Four nursing students of Rohini Nursing school in Hanamkonda attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills last night. They are out of danger and are recovering at Rohini hospital of the same management.
However, the news came to light this afternoon, as the school management didn’t reveal the matter.
According to the students, who hail from Kerala, they had attempted suicide unable to bear the `harassment’ by the nursing school warden. The students--Besty, Jincy, Jijimol and Reshmi--are in their final year of three-year GNM course.
One of the students, who attempted suicide, said they had consumed sleeping pills last night, as the warden had been abusing them for the last four days.

However, Rohini Hospital MD Bucchireddy said that the students, who had attempted suicide, ragged their juniors recently. ``They enacted the suicide drama when the warden questioned about the ragging,’’ he explained.
When asked as to why the management didn’t report the ragging incident to the police, the MD said that they were still enquiring about it. Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi activists and a large number of locals gathered at the hospital and demanded action against the school management.
Warangal MP Sircilla Rajaiah called on the nursing students, who told him that they had consumed sleeping pills unable to bear the harassment of the warden.
